Safety

Our Requirements

At The Flight Department, we utilize the finest independent safety auditing service available: Wyvern Ltd.

Charter standards can vary in the industry, so it is imperative to start with a qualified company that has undergone an onsite safety audit within the last 18 months. From companies that meet these criteria, we then disqualify individual aircraft based on aircraft records and insurance. We then examine each pilot and disqualify appropriately with regard to the following:

• Certificate type and type rating

• Medical certificate type

• Total time in all aircraft

• Total time in class of aircraft

• Total time in multi-engine aircraft

• Total time in type flown on the mission

• Actual instrument time

• Flight hours in the last 12 months and 90 days

• Time since training in a full-motion simulator at an approved recurrent course

• Pilot history of sanctions, incidents or accidents

• All standard Federal Aviation Regulation requirements

The standard  provided by Wyvern Ltd. is the most comprehensive standard available today. Wyvern qualifies far fewer airplanes and crews under its standard compared to their competition. We think that's a good thing.
